South Dakota employers will learn about notable employment law changes and what to expect for 2025 during Employment Law Seminars in Rapid City, Aberdeen and Sioux Falls on April 8th, 9th and 10th. The South Dakota Retailers Association is sponsoring the programs, featuring Chris Hoyme, attorney with the employment law firm of Jackson Lewis P.C. In addition to bringing employers up-to-date on key employment law changes at the federal level, Hoyme will focus on smart hiring, steps to take for discipline or termination, and severance agreements. The seminars will be held Tuesday, April 8 at the Best Western Ramkota in Rapid City; Wednesday, April 9 at the Moccasin Creek Country Club in Aberdeen; and Thursday, April 10 at the Hilton Garden Inn South in Sioux Falls. Each session runs from 9:30am to 4:00pm. Lunch is included with registration. "In today's fast-moving, competitive environment, it's essential that employers stay informed about workforce requirements and best practices," said Nathan Sanderson, Executive Director of the South Dakota Retailers Association. "These seminars will explain what employers need to know about rapidly developing areas of employment law, and how good hiring can help build a better team." There is no charge for South Dakota Retailers Association members to attend. Registration for nonmembers is $100 per person (that amount can be applied to new membership dues). To register, visit sdra.org/seminars to register. Call (605) 224-5050 or email info@sdra.org for more information.
