PIERRE (SD) – The South Dakota Retailers Association is offering a variety of scholarships to propel careers in retail, hospitality, business, or trades. Students who will be enrolled in post-secondary schooling during the fall of 2024 may apply before the April 23 deadline. Designed to support aspiring entrepreneurs, managers, and employees, the South Dakota Retailers Association scholarship program has been a pivotal stepping stone for countless individuals since its 1992 inception. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be currently enrolled or plan to enroll in a retail-related course of study at a technical school, college, or university in the fall of 2024. In 2023, the association awarded funds to six students in amounts ranging from $2,100 to $3,500. Over the program’s lifetime, nearly $238,000 has been awarded to 275 recipients. “We know there are many talented people who have an entrepreneurial spirit or who plan to work in a business,” said South Dakota Retailers Executive Director Nathan Sanderson. “Our scholarship program can help launch them on their career path.
