Jason Harms, of Harms Oil in Brookings, was elected Board President of the South Dakota Retailers during the association’s annual meeting. As president, Harms will lead the Retailers Board of Directors in guiding operational decisions, goal setting, and policy positions for the 4,000-member organization. Harms has served on the Retailers Board for nearly a decade and has been an association member for even longer. “During my time with the Retailers, the association’s positive impact for the state’s business community has been apparent,” said Harms. “I look forward to continuing the mission of keeping South Dakota businesses strong.” Harms succeeds Sarah Hustead of Wall Drug who served as president last year. Outgoing board members recognized for their contributions include: Tara Knapp of Dairy Queen in Belle Fourche; Angela Leiferman of Mid Dakota Meats in Winner; and Nancy Savage of Child’s Play Toys in Sioux Falls. “The Retailers Association is incredibly fortunate to have such a strong board, made up of some of the state’s best business minds,” said Nathan Sanderson, South Dakota Retailers Assoc.
